Your Phone Number and Saved Email
Your phone number is used only to verify your identity and, when a match is found and all required participants have unlocked (2 users for a 2-way match, 3 users for a 3-way match), to show your contact details to your match.
MutualSwaps may show your saved notification email along with your phone number after a match or interested-location unlock so users have another way to contact you.
Your phone number is never sold, never shared with third parties for marketing, and never visible to anyone on the platform unless a verified mutual match exists and all required participants have paid to unlock (2 users for a 2-way match, 3 users for a 3-way match).
Contact reveal requests are verified server-side on every attempt. Each reveal requires a verified account, a confirmed matched pair, and an active unlock pass — your number cannot be accessed outside of these conditions.
Information We Collect
We collect your phone number, saved notification email, account identifier, unlock access status, and swap request details you provide (such as current and desired location and craft). We also record basic activity on the site, including when you last visited, so we can tell which swap requests are still being actively worked on.
How We Use Information
We use your information to authenticate your account, provide matching features, display contact details between matched users, process unlock access, and maintain service security.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.
SMS Notifications
SMS notifications from MutualSwaps are optional. If SMS alerts are enabled, you may receive text messages related to your account and swap activity, including new match alerts, contact unlock updates, revealed contact information, and account reminders.
Message frequency varies based on your account and match activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. You can reply HELP or INFO for help.
SMS consent is not required to use MutualSwaps or to create a swap request. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Data Sharing
We share your phone number and saved notification email only with your matched participant(s) after all required participants unlock (2 users for a 2-way match, 3 users for a 3-way match), or after an interested-location unlock is covered. We may share limited data with service providers required to operate the platform (for example, payment and hosting providers).
Data Retention
We retain account and access data while your account is active and as needed for legal, billing, and security purposes.
